Mommy and Me

So today I took Avery to Mommy and Me swimming lessons. My friend Abbie teaches a Mommy and Me class 3 days a week at her mom's pool. Avery had so much fun. Her favorite was jumping in the water, I think we did that almost the entire time. I'm trying to teach her to float on her back, but she just rolls back over on her stomach (I don't think she likes it to much.) She is an excellent kicker. Watching her little legs splash the water is so funny. Mike got to come today, so I made him take pictures. Mikey was sad that he didn't get to go swimming, but I had to explain to him that his swimming classes start next week. One of my goals is to make sure my kids know how to swim well, so I want them to learn as much as they can. I'm so happy that Avery loves the water, but at the same time my little girl is fearless and does things that just take my breath away sometimes. I am so proud of her!!!!

Dagen and Mikey were such good little boys sitting on the bench cheering us on. Dagen is my friend Breanne's oldest boy, and Mikey just thinks he is so cool.

Happy Belated Fathers Day!!

So I know Fathers Day was Sunday, but I have been so busy I forgot to post this. We had a Great Day. We went up to my parent's house in Woodland Hills and had dinner outside on the deck. I forget how beautiful it is up there in the summer (it's not so beautiful in the winter, unless you have a snow blower & a 4x4 vehicle.) I love being surrounded by all the trees, it's so quiet and peaceful. Mikey and Avery had so much fun exploring the woods, and playing with Mikey the Cat. It was so nice to spend the day with my wonderful husband, and my Dad. I was glad that he got to fly home from California to spend the weekend with us. I am so proud of how hard both of them work to support their families. I am such a lucky wife and daughter to have them both in my life. I love you both and hope that you have a wonderful Fathers Day.
My Wonderful Family!!!
I got the cutest pictures of these two sitting together. They can be so sweet together when there not making each other cry.
Mikey loved being in the hammock, until he flipped out of it and fell on his knee. My poor buddy.
Avery had so much fun swinging in the hammock with her big brother.
Grandpa doing his secret can trick. I don't know anyone else who can make a soda can stick to the back of their head except my dad. I'm so proud of him.
.Mikey trying to be like Grandpa.
Mikey & Avery absolutely love this cat. The poor thing is so old, but he always puts a smile on my kids faces.

Avery's Heart Check-Up

Today Avery had her annual heart appointment. When she was born she had a heart murmur. Her pediatrician didn't tell us much, and sent us up to primary children's. Her cardiologist found that she had pulmonary stenosis (narrowing of her pulmonary valve.) He wanted to wait to see if within the next couple of weeks it would get better or worse. When she was ten weeks old they decided to do her surgery to open up her valve. Well what they did seemed to have helped, but it didn't fix the problem all the way. When you listen to her heart you can still hear her murmur, it is very loud. Today the doc told us that she's doing well, and that we will just have to continue with her heart check ups on a regular basis. She was such a good little girl for the doctor and nurses. Every time the doctor listens to her heart she holds so still. I think because ever since she was born she has been poked and prodded at, and she doesn't know any different. I am so grateful that everything went well today, and so proud of my baby girl.
Avery was so being so cute. She just sat in that chair and read books until they came in to run the tests.
They put all these stickers all over her chest, and then hook her up to the EKG machine.
Avery didn't know what the nurse was doing to her, but during the whole thing she didn't make one sound. What an Angel!

Sprinkler Sunday

It was such nice weather on Sunday, so Mikey asked if he could run through the sprinklers. It was more like running away from the sprinklers, but he had so much fun. Avery wasn't to interested in getting wet. She would just sit down on the steps or sidewalk, and watch Mikey run around. Also the reason I posted this today and not on Sunday is I have been sooo sick. First I get food poisoning, on my birthday of all days, and now I have strep throat. I can't believe it! It has been such a miserable year for sickness in my family. I think every week since the beginning of the year one of us has had something. Even though I make sure everyone takes there vitamins someone still gets sick. Hopefully the rest of the year will be smooth sailing!!

Lions & Tigers & Bears Oh My!!!

The other day we took the kids to Hogle Zoo. Avery of course loved every minute of it. She knew how to say all the animals names except crocodile she wasn't quite sure about that one. Mikey of course has been to the zoo on more then one occasion, so he just sat back in his wagon and chilled. The highlight of the zoo for him is usually the train ride, but the train was closed that day. I told him he can go with Aunt Lees another time, and he seemed to cheer up after that (he loves Aunt Lees.) It was such a fun and exciting day I hope we get to go at least one more time this year.
I could never get a good picture of them. If one looks the other one doesn't. Oh well.
Avery loved the elephants!! Mikey wouldn't get in the picture, because he said his feet were hurting. Lately that has been his excuse for everything.
Mike was such a good sport to come with us even though he wasn't feeling good, but he still had fun with the kids.
The zoo just got this new attraction of a white alligator. I thought I got it in this picture with the kids, but I don't see it.
You can't see it very well, but in the background is a big black bear. Avery would say "Come here bear, come here please." It was so cute.
This is pretty much how Mikey spent the day, Chilln in the wagon.
