Today Avery had her annual heart appointment. When she was born she had a heart murmur. Her pediatrician didn't tell us much, and sent us up to primary children's. Her cardiologist found that she had pulmonary stenosis (narrowing of her pulmonary valve.) He wanted to wait to see if within the next couple of weeks it would get better or worse. When she was ten weeks old they decided to do her surgery to open up her valve. Well what they did seemed to have helped, but it didn't fix the problem all the way. When you listen to her heart you can still hear her murmur, it is very loud. Today the doc told us that she's doing well, and that we will just have to continue with her heart check ups on a regular basis. She was such a good little girl for the doctor and nurses. Every time the doctor listens to her heart she holds so still. I think because ever since she was born she has been poked and prodded at, and she doesn't know any different. I am so grateful that everything went well today, and so proud of my baby girl.
Avery was so being so cute. She just sat in that chair and read books until they came in to run the tests.
They put all these stickers all over her chest, and then hook her up to the EKG machine.
Avery didn't know what the nurse was doing to her, but during the whole thing she didn't make one sound. What an Angel!

I am soooo glad she is doing well. There is nothing worse than seeing your baby being poked and proded. What a brave little girl and a beautiful one at that. We love you Avery and can't wait to see you all this summer. Love ya!!
I'm glad she is doing okay. It is so nerve wracking when something is wrong with your kid. She is such a doll.
That is so crazy that you posted this and then saw Ben's! Isn't it so scary to watch your child go through this? People might imagine it happening to them but when it really does, no words can describe it! She looks like she is doing well! Ben goes to Dr. Judd (we LOVE her)! Who do you guys go to? Don't you have a murmur too...or am I just making that up? Is her's genetic? Ben's isn't getting any better so they say he needs to have his valve replaced but they want him to reach 80 lbs. He's only at 44 and he eats like a horse but doesn't gain anything so who knows what will happen!
Hey Britt, I'm glad Avery is doing better I can't wait to see you guys this summer. Only about a month left.
